  • Poison Prevention Control Garden

    • From 134th take 20th north. It is a couple of blocks up just past NE 144th
  • Vancouver Lake Park - This park is on the SW side of vancouver lake. Take 4th plain west and then curve up the side of the lake.
  • Salmon Creek Park
    • This is located in Salmon Creek. Access it via Highway 99 between 99th and 134th. Lots of walking paths.
  • Main street in downtown vancouver - store with lots of anime stuff, rentals, etc...
  • Esther Short Park - the "town green" of Vancouver. Lots of things happening - wading pool, people, shade.

    • Walking and lots of trees (shade)
    • (near the zoo)
      • Take Exit #72 off US 26 toward the Zoo, Forestry Center & Vietnam Memorial.
      • Turn slight right onto SW Canyon Rd.
      • SW Canyon becomes Knights. Continue up the hill towards Fairview.
      • Turn right onto SW Fairview Blvd. Visitor Center is on your right hand side at 4000 SW Fairview Blvd.

  • William O. Douglas Wilderness
    • Named for a local U.S. Supreme Court Justice who espoused environmental causes, this magnificent 168,000-acre nature reserve includes 25 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, over 60 other trails and 59 lakes, and is home to elk, mule deer, mountain goats and other wildlife
    • Just east of the intersection of 205 and 500
  • Henry J. Kaiser Shipyard Memorial
    • Marine Park off Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA
  • The Academy
    • 400 East Evergreen Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661 (downtown Vancouver)
    • A nun named Mother Joseph founded this place, among many other charitable institutions, in the 1870s. The Vancouver landmark has served as Clark County's first convent, hospital, orphanage and school. Built entirely from brick that was produced in the area, it was a great development for the new Western territories. Centrally located near Officers Row and Fort Vancouver, the renovated building is now partially open to the public. The chapel and ballroom can be toured by appointment.
